Commissary Program

200+ individuals remain incarcerated in federal prison for cannabis-related charges

The average hourly wage for a prisoner is $0.14/hour, requiring up to 2,000 hours of work to earn an extra $300 for commissary items such as food, hygiene products, and phone minutes to call home. The Commissary Program aims to reduce financial strain on families dealing with incarceration by designating $300/month to the commissary accounts of non-violent cannabis prisoners, a significant expense for families already struggling.

Franklin Fields Commissary Carts, a line of 1g distillate vapes in a variety of flavors, are proud to support the Commissary Program by donating a portion of proceeds from each cart sold.

Great Lakes Expungement Network

Past criminal offenses can create unnecessary barriers to housing and employment long after someone has paid their dues to society

The Great Lakes Expungement Network (GLEN) is a collection of community-based organizations, professionals, businesses, and criminal defense attorneys dedicated to providing Michiganders with criminal records an opportunity for a clean slate through fee-free expungements.

Help give our Michiganders a fresh start. For every can of Sweet Justice sold, we’re donating a portion of proceeds to GLEN.

The cost of an expungement is $1,200, but the ROI is over 16 times that with a positive impact on both the individual and the community.

Post-expungement, the economic benefits include:

  • Wages: Over 22% increase within one year
  • Employment: Likelihood increases by 13%
  • Annual Earnings: Average $6,600 increase per year
  • Lifetime Earnings: Potential 25% increase
  • Tax Revenue Boost: $990 additional contributions annually
  • Reduction in Public Assistance: $2,000 less reliance per year
  • Economic Activity: Additional $9,900 generated annually

Franklin Fields Achieves Gold Star Status in Michigan’s Social Equity All-Star Program

At Franklin Fields, we are proud to announce our Gold Level recognition in Michigan’s Social Equity All-Star Program—a testament to our unwavering commitment to equity, inclusion, and industry leadership.

This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication and expertise of Melissa Jekel, our Customer Success Manager. Since joining Franklin Fields in 2020, Melissa has played a pivotal role in building relationships, crafting memorable experiences, and ensuring that our company remains a leader in community engagement and social responsibility.

Beyond her work at Franklin Fields, Melissa has been a key advocate for industry-wide change.
